The Town of Subotica is situated in the north of the Republic of Serbia, along the boarder with the Republic of Hungary, at 46° 05’ 55’’ north latitude and 19° 39’ 47’’ east longitude. The international road E-75 passes near Subotica. It is 10 km away from the Kelebija boarder crossing, and 30 km from Horgoš. North of the town is a fertile sandstone with vineyards and orchards, and to the south there is arable land. Currently, the town with the surrounding Municipalities has around 150,000 residents: Hungarians, Croats, Bunjevacs, Serbs and other peoples.
