The Municipality of Smederevska Palanka is located around 70 kilometres south-east of Belgrade, at 44 degrees and 23 minutes of the northern latitude, and 20 degrees and 54 minutes of the eastern longitude. The Municipality area has a flat-hilly terrain, with an altitude of 95 to 297 meters. The town and its surroundings are located in the temperate-continental climate zone, in a relatively mild climate, in which the four seasons can be clearly distinguished. Currently, around 55,000 people live in the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka.
