The construction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in the Municipality of Novi Becej will cover 17,000 residents. In order to preserve nature and the Danube-Tisa-Danube Canal the following will be constructed: WWTP 1 Novi Becej PE-10,000, WWTP 2 Novo Milosevo PE-7,000. The total length of the sewage network that will be worked on is 47,580.28 meters. The construction of the sewage network will cover the center of the municipality of Novi Becej.

The implementation of the “Clean Serbia” Project in the Municipality of Novi Becej began on January 25, 2021.

As part of the “Clean Serbia” Project in Novi Becej, 47.5 kilometers of sewage network and two wastewater treatment plants will be constructed in Novi Becej and Novo Milosevo, which will cover 17,000 residents.

Preparatory works on the opening of the construction site are currently underway, and the total value of the project in this Municipality is 24.5 million euros.

Sasa Maksimovic, the president of the Municipality of Novi Becej, characterized the fact that this Municipality started the preparatory works many years ago as good news for its fellow citizens: “That is good news because Novi Becej will be 100% covered by sewage in the next three years.”  A vacuum station that is part of the sewage system and a water purifier are planned, which will not only improve the lives of residents, but we will have preserved nature and created a healthier environment.”
