The Municipality of Bojnik belongs to the 24 most underdeveloped Municipalities in Serbia in terms of surface area (264 km2), and to the 27 smallest Municipalities in Serbia according its number of residents. The overall development level reaches to around 40% of the national average. Location – the distance from Leskovac is 21 km, from Niš 45 km, and through Brestovac, which is 20 km away, it is connected to the international E-75 Road – Corridor 10. There were 13,118 residents (according to the 2002 census).
