Leskovac

Leskovac is a town settlement and the administrative centre of the territorial unit of the same name and of the Jablanica administrative District. It received the status of a Town in the year 2007. The Town is located in the Leskovac Valley, known for its Serbian pentathlon. The Veternica River flows through the settlement, and not far from Leskovac flows the South Morava River, which all larger tributaries of the Town flow into. Leskovac lies at an altitude of 228 meters, and the valley in which it is located is surrounded by the Radan, Goljak, and Pasjača Mountains in the west, Kukavica and Čemernik Mountains in the south, and Babička Gora, Seličevica, and Suva Planina Mountains in the east. According to the 2011 census report, the were 60,288 residents in the Town of Leskovac itself, while there were 144,206 residents in the area of the Town of Leskovac.
