Lučani is located in southwestern Serbia, as a part of the Moravica District. In addition to the Municipality of Lučani, this geographical-administrative unit includes the Municipalities of Gornji Milanovac, Ivanjice, and the Town of Čačak. The Municipality of Lučani covers an area of 454 km2 and falls under the medium-sized municipalities in Serbia in terms of surface area, but falls under the category of smaller municipalities in terms of its number of residents. According to the last census from the year 2011, there were a total of 20,897 residents.
