President of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vučić has announced the construction of a wastewater treatment factory in Veliko Selo, which will be built in cooperation with the French partners. The contractor of these works will be the Chinese company CRBC, Serbia‘s partner in the ‚Clean Serbia‘ Project.

„It is something we are working on. It‘s the field in which we lack the technology, so naturally we have to build a wastewater treatment factory together with somoene. That plant in Veliko Selo will be built together with the French partners, and construction works will be done by the Chinese partners“, said the President of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić after his visit to France.

President reminded that the ‚Clean Serbia‘ project is currently being implemented in Serbia, and that the design and technical documentation is being prepared for the aforementioned factory.

It is estimated that more than 700 million Euros is necessary for the construction and commissioning of the aforementioned wastewater treatment plant.

Unlike other European countries in the Danube river basin, Serbia unfortunately does not currently posses the ability to keep the water purity at the the same level at which it reaches Serbia. It is exactly for that reason that construction of five wastewater treatment plants is planned on the territory of Belgrade.

Minister of Construction Mr. Vesić has also announced, on previous occasions, the construction of a wastewater treatment factory in Veliko Selo, reminding that the factory will cover 1.5 million people.
