Momirović touring the works in Mionica: So far – 160km of sewage network in Serbia

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović has visited the works on the implementation of the “Clean Serbia” Project in Mionica. Four Wastewater Treatment Plants and sewage network in Mionica and Banja Vrujci will receive an investment of 10.5 million Euros.

During the visit of works on the construction of municipal infrastructure in Mionica, the Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović has informed the public that so far, within the “Clean Serbia” Project, around 160 km of new sewage infrastructure has been made.

“Our operational plan is to, by the end of the year, complete the four Wastewater Treatment Plants, and I am truly proud of the ‘Clean Serbia’ Project, which we have initiated on the territory of the entire country. Specifically, here in Mionica and Banja Vrujci, we are working on around 20 km of new sewage infrastructure and two Wastewater Treatment Plants, in which we will invest 10.5 million Euros,” said the Minister.

The Minister has concluded that exactly with Projects like this, the image of Serbia is improving.

Praise to the Project and the Minister was given by the President of the Municipality of Mionica Boban Janković, noting that implementation of the “Clean Serbia” Project in Mionica is a historical moment.

“This may perhaps be a historical moment for us, because the state has allocated massive funds in order to improve the quality of life of the residents in Mionica and Banja Vrujci. Residents of Mionica can clearly see that the state invests a lot, and we used to dream about a project of muicipal infrastructure construction, and now we know that Mionica will be a place in accordance with all environmental standards. I must commend the Minister Momirović, since this is his fourth visit of works in Mionica alone”, Janković said.

The “Clean Serbia” Project plans for the construction of 10,581m of sewage network in Mionica, and 8,498 meters in Banja Vrujci. Two Wastewater Treatment Plants are planned for this area, each in Mionica and Banja Vrujci respectively. The Contractor of the works is a Chinese company called CRBC.

Never greater projects in the Municipality of Kučevo

Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović has visited today the works on the construction of sewage network in Kučevo. The Minister, to whom the Municipality of Kučevo has awarded today a charter of gratitude, has announced that, this year, 300 km and 4 wastewater treatment plants will be constructed.

The works which began in February on the territory of the Municipality of Kučevo are progressing according to plan, and today, the Minister of Construction Tomislav Momirović paid them a visit.

“We have constructed 160 kilometers of new sewage infrastructure on the territory of the entire country so far, and by September we will have constructed 300 kilometers, and by the end of the year we will have built first 4 wastewater treatment plants” the Minister has stated today.

It was understood that, apart from Kučevo, the works should also begin in the village of Rabrovo in Autumn.

“We are making significant progress in terms of environmental projects and that is a personal priority of mine. Highways and fast railroads mean nothing if we do not leave this country clean for our children. Our contribution is modest and if we should be thankful to anyone, it is our citizens on whose trust we were able to make these successful projects possible and our management led by the President Aleksandar Vučić thanks to whom, with great energy, the greatest investment wave in the history of Serbia was initiated”, stated Minister Momirović, who was awarded a charter of gratitude by the Municipality of Kučevo for the implementation of infrastructure projects on the territory of Kučevo.

The works which are being executed in Kučevo are worth 11 million EUR, which is certainly the greatest investment ever in the aforementioned Municipality.

Sludge cleaning Project of Medjuvrsje Lake basis for green energy

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic has opened, together with the Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujovic, Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic and Mayor of Cacak Milun Todorovic, the NatureCenter in Ovcar Banja.

Brnabic has previously visited the Ovcar-Kablar Gorge and the lake Medjuvrsje,  where she was presented with the sludge cleaning project at the docks, worth almost 40 million EUR.

Prime Minister Brnabic has announced at the opening of the Nature Center several new projects, such as the construction of a rehabilitation center as a separate part of the General Hospital of Cacak and sludge cleaning of the Medjuvrsje lake, which is the most significant undertaking in the revitalization process of this area.

“We are further building on that by constructing a biomass energy plant in Cacak allowing us to use that sludge as fuel therefore making green energy in the process. That way, we are slowly entering the system of circular economy in the Republic of Serbia, and all of that begins here” Brnabic has emphasized.

Sludge cleaning of the Medjuvrsje lake is planned within the “Clean Serbia” Project thanks to the Agreement on Economic Cooperation with Hungary.

„We will finish sludge cleaning of this lake which has not been cleaned since 1954 when it was made and we will complete all aspects of this Project and Ovcar Banja will be perhaps the most beautiful part of our country in the years to come, but without the support of the citizens and the necessary synergy with them, it is a matter of question wether that will remain the same in the following decades. We will invest maximum effort led by the Prime Minister to turn Ovcar Banja into a real little miracle of Western Serbia to joy of all citizens of Cacak, residents of Ovcar Banja and Western Serbia“ says Minister Tomislav Momirovic.

Through extensive works to environmental standards

The works within “Clean Serbia” are going according to the planned dynamics. In certain cities and municipalities the works are being executed at multiple locations. Simultaneously, certain local governments are working on preparing the necessary documentation which will allow them to enter the Project.

The goal of the Government of the Republic of Serbia is to cover 80% of the population with sewage infrastructure in the next five years, as well as to connect the network to wastewater treatment plants.

Minister Tomislav Momirović states that 28 billion RSD have been allocated for the 2022 budget solely for environmental projects of municipal infrastructure construction., which according to his statement makes for record investments which will contribute to reaching environmental standards of Western European countries.

Momirovic visiting the works in Kragujevac

The Minister of Construction Tomislav Momirovic has visited the works on the location of Brdjanska Street in Kragujevac, as part of the “Clean Serbia” Project.

The works in the Brdjanska Street are going to be carried out in the length of 2,270m, and so far 214m of sewage network has been constructed. However, as the Minister has pointed out, the works in this street are not the only active site.

“Apart from the construction site in Belosevac, we have initiated works on three more locations in Kragujevac. We are building some 50 or so km of sewage network in the first phase, and the plan is to build 360 km of brand-new sewage network and address a huge environmental problem in Kragujevac. We want it to be a city of contemporary infrastructure and to connect the vast majority of citizens to a sewage network, and after that to build wastewater treatment plants in order to raise the environmental standard in Kragujevac up to the one of Western Europe”, says the Minister.

Mayor of Kragujevac,  Nikola Dasic has stated that this Project will cover every home, every household in the city and its vicinity so the problem of so called wild connections which do not end up in collectors of the Public Utility Company „Vodovod i kanalizacija”, but in water streams. That is why the citizens are able to pay off a legal connection to the new sewage network in 30 equal monthly installments.

In Kragujevac, as it is planned by the Project, the construction of 3,808.5 m of sewage network is under way while the works in the Municipality of Knic are being carried out in the length of 1,711.83m.

Water supply and sewage for 80% of the territory of Smederevska Palanka

Minister of Construction and Transport Tomislav Momirovic has confirmed during his visit to the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka that Smederevska Palanka is one of the 65 municipalities covered by the “Clean Serbia” Project, which will create conditions for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant.

With this Project, the Municipality of Smederevska Palanka will receive water supply and sewage on more than 80 per cent of its territory.

The biggest wastewater treatment factory will be constructed in Palanka, the other one will be for the villages of Kusadak and Ratari, third in Selevac, then Azanja, Bacinac, Stojacak and Golobok. Smaller villages will be connected to these seven plants.

Momirović: Obrenovac to get 100 km of sewage network

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirović has stated today in Obrenovac that 100 km of sewage network and two wastewater treatment factories will be constructed on the territory of that municipality. So far, 40 km of sewage network has been constructed in the Municipality of Obrenovac.

While visiting the works on the implementation of the “Clean Serbia” Project in Obrenovac, the Minister has strongly emphasized that only 8 per cent of the population in our country is covered by wastewater treatment plants. “We are currently building on 16 locations and in the previous two months we have built 60 kilometers of sewage network. How behind we are in terms of municipal infrastructure says the fact that only 8 per cent of the population in this country is covered by wastewater treatment plants. We have to change that, clean our rivers, to treat wastewaters and to discharge clean water into nature”, says the Minister during his visit to the construction site.

Momirović has emphasized that fast railroads and highways are all for nothing if we destroy nature.

“This Project that we are implementing in Obrenovac is the biggest ecological project in the history of our country and I personally, the entire Government and the political system led by the President Aleksandar Vučić will not stop until we complete this Project”, says the Minister.

The President of the Municipality of Obrenovac Miroslav Čučković says that

So far, 40 km of sewage has been built in Obrenovac and it covers the following settlements: Šljivica, Belo Polje, settlement of Braće Jugović, routes towards Valjevo and Ub, settlement of Zvečka, as well as along the road to Šabac.

“We have added to that the settlements of Urovci and Krtinska and the crown of that entire process has to be the construction of a wastewater treatment factory. Thanks to the Government of Serbia, Messrs. Jeremić and Tomislav Momirović we will receive two factories in our town. Wastewater treatment factory will be located between the picnic area “Zabran” and the highway, which is why it is important that it be constructed according to the highest ecological standards, in high quality and long-lasting” says the President of the Municipality of Obrenovac Miroslav Čučković.

Čučković has presented an interesting fact that the prices of houses in the parts of Obrenovac where the sewage and heating pipes have been constructed have grown by 30 per cent, which is, in his opinion, another reason to complete this Project.

The President of the Municipality, Čučković, has announced that the continuation of works from July 1 plans for the River Barička and streets Miroslava Čamdžije, Grobljanska and all streets which gravitate towards that part of Obrenovac, which would complete the preparations for the commissioning of the entire system.

“Clean Serbia” Project in full swing

Works under the “Clean Serbia” Project are going according to the dynamics. There are works on the network currently on several locations across a couple of Municipalities, while the opening of new sites in those Municipalities is being prepared. Last week, the works have started in Banja Vrujci.

While works are already being carried out in the Municipalities where the contracts have been signed, numerous municipalities and cities in Serbia are working intensively on collecting the necessary documentation for the signing of new contracts

As Minister Tomislav Momirović has announced on several occasions so far, new contracts will be signed this year with the Municipalities that have already completed the administrative part of the work. “The plan is to build the sewage infrastructure and  Wastewater Treatment Plants in 80 municipalities in Serbia in the next five years,” said the Minister.
